Our relationship with the NHS began in Berkshire, where we were asked to create a community-facing brand to support local mental health services. That work quickly expanded, first into an animated explainer to support the new brand, and later into a powerful reassurance film to help patients to understand the process of being admitted to mental health wards.
Now, we’re bringing that same patient-first approach to another NHS district, supporting four mental health hospitals with a suite of animations designed to demystify care, ease anxiety, and help people feel more confident about what to expect when they get there. At every stage, we’ve focused on making care easier to access and understand, using story-led animation, friendly design, and calm, inclusive language to make a meaningful difference for patients and families. This is clarity with compassion. Design with purpose. And comms that put people first.
Objective
Create accessible, reassuring communications for patients navigating NHS mental health services. Use animation to introduce care settings, processes, and expectations in a way that feels kind, clear, and calming. Ensure every element of design, tone, and delivery supports NHS values and helps reduce anxiety ahead of treatment. Provide long-term creative support to expand these tools across new regions and services.
Results and impact
The initial branding and animation work in Berkshire helped establish stronger community connection and gave patients a clearer sense of support. Subsequent explainer animations have made hospital admissions feel less daunting, helping individuals, and families prepare emotionally and practically. As we expand the work with new NHS regions, the growing relationship reflects the long-term value of trusted creative collaboration, and a shared commitment to better patient communication.
